Originally from Brasil, raised in the Bay Area, and trained in Cuba’s national conservatory, KID AKIMBO is a performer of uncommon talents. Add a larger than life dance presence to this singer’s already expressive, multi-octave voice and you have someone to look out for in the pop/r&b scene.

Bursting onto San Francisco Pride’s Mainstage in 2007, AKIMBO has also performed at Supperclub, Denver Pride’s Mainstage, the Folsom Street Fair, and is a repeat headliner at Boulder PrideFest. He has shared the stage with such acts as Tiffany, the Chicago Afrobeat Project, billboard-charting trans artist, Josh Klipp, and studied with two time Grammy nominee, Ledisi.

Summer 2009 marks a multi-city tour for KID AKIMBO with Josh Klipp, continuing the collaboration they do in the San Francisco-based Freeplay Dance Crew. KA's second European tour is slated for fall of this year.
